  This is a lengthy review but well worth the read if considering doing business with them. So I recently bought an income property and since I didn't know much I decided to go through a paid service to find tenants, so that I can lean on the experience of others. Upon meeting with Andrew, who is the son of the owner, I decided to stick with them. The services offered would be tenant screening, both financial and background check, as well as lease generation in the event the tenants didn’t work out the eviction process would be handled and new tenants would be found at no extra cost. The cost would be the equivalent of one month’s rent. I initially said no pets and was told that because of the size of my unit (3 bedrooms/1 bath), if I went with no pets I would lose business. I then said I didn’t want immature college students as I wanted people who would be employed. I was guaranteed that I would get good tenants. So tenants were found within 3 weeks, pretty quick turnaround awesome. They were young college students with two dogs. Two things against my list. They also were not both employed full time, I’m starting to panic. Andrew convinced me they would be good tenants and the income would be supplemented by a grant and it was all checked​ out. So I reluctantly agreed, I mean worst case scenario they would handle eviction, and I wasn’t experienced I could be overthinking it. So we all meet and Andrew proceeds to pocket the security deposit, I’m confused so I question it and he says that’s the fee. Okay, I expected to be billed separately but no big deal. We sign the lease and the tenants were supposed to pay me the rent on the move in day. So the tenants move in and they’re late on rent about a week and a half. I’m annoyed but moving is crazy so I say let’s wait for the first full month. For the next 3 months they are late on rent 3 weeks each time, no kidding. So I stop calling them and call Apartment Connection, saying hey I want to evict. The owner Debbie says she’d like to try calling them. Okay, rent is still late. Finally she draws up the pay or quit notice. So I get my rent within the 3 days. I talk to the tenants and say I’d release them from the lease if they got out at the end of the month and turned in the keys. I emailed Apartment Connection and asked for copies of the lease. The response was the tenants have the lease and were supposed to give me copies, but they would check their files. After that there was no response or anything. Truly I should’ve had the wherewithal to ask for a copy the day it was signed but I trusted Apartment Connection. What business doesn’t keep copies of a contract they drew up? Landlords and tenants do business with them at your own risk but please ask the questions I didn’t and be firm with your needs. I never do any reviews but I felt so strongly I have to do this and I’m happy my name is on it. I’d like to see if they respond.

  I had the pleasure working with Andrew. As this was the first apartment I moved into, they made it quick and simple! I appreciated the constant communication with him as he made sure to accommodate my needs. If I am ever looking at an apartment in the same area, I will go through The Apartment Connection! Thank you again for making this process so simple and further extending to offer help post the move.
